How can the Oklahoma Venture Resource Council support me?

Let’s be honest: the Oklahoma venture space is in its infancy – not always clear, rough around the edges, but full of potential.  The men and women committed to its growth – and there are many – are why the Oklahoma Venture Resource Council (OVRC) exists.  We believe Oklahoma is ripe for innovation and economic diversification and that by way of public and private sector advancements, our state can be a regional leader in venture creation & scale.

Though the space is young, it’s not without experience.  Foundational policy, a decade plus of institutional venture investments, and generations of friends & family venture incubation.  New venture firms are coming online, we’re learning from what other states have done, national investors are reviewing Oklahoma deals, and city/community ecosystems are becoming vibrant hubs of venture support & progress.  The groundwork has been laid, and the moment is full of opportunity.

The OVRC is a convener – an amalgamator of ideas, an amplifier of individual efforts.  We exist, as a convening body, because you care about the venture space – because so many others like you care about the growth, development, and thriving of the Oklahoma venture space.  At our highest and best use, we are a remover of macro barriers that enable individual action – for investors, for entrepreneurs, for ecosystem builders.

So how can we serve you?

As an investor?

Below are some tangible ways the OVRC is a resource to investors:

  • Our team of 30+ venture champions is a bridge between the public & private sectors – we work alongside the Oklahoma Department of Commerce and the Office of the Governor to present and advise on policies that will incentivize (and remove barriers for) venture investment, venture creation, and (in-state) venture scale.

  • Through this landing page, we’ll be sharing videos, blogs, and articles on relevant Oklahoma investor topics.  What do you hope to see here?

  • Looking to invest in an Oklahoma venture?  Across the OVRC team, there isn’t likely to be a venture in Oklahoma we don’t know about.  Tell us what you’re looking for and we can facilitate a connection.

  • Want to learn from or engage with peer investors?  Several OVRC members are investors, and through our networks, we have relationships with a plethora of local and national investors.
